Sustainability at UoE

At UoE, sustainability isn’t just a goal – it’s a responsibility we are acting on every day. Through our Strategy 2030, we’ve pledged to lead bold and meaningful action in response to the climate emergency and ecological crisis.

We recognise that all aspects of our activities contribute to our carbon and ecological footprint and that as a global leader in climate research and educator of future generations, we can have a positive impact. We’re implementing a comprehensive and institution-wide approach that embeds sustainability into everything we do. From innovative research to everyday operations, we’re building a culture where sustainable thinking shapes decisions at every level.

The University has invested in building a dedicated Sustainability team that plays a key role in delivering on the University’s sustainability commitments.
