The Sustainable Development Goals within HASS

Our HASS colleagues within the University of Exeter promote sustainability through impactful research and teaching – equipping students with the knowledge and skills to confront these complex challenges.

To illustrate the breadth of sustainability-oriented teaching within the HASS faculty, the HASS Sustainability Committee have mapped every taught module across the faculty* against the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (pictured above). Over 65% of all undergraduate and postgraduate taught modules within HASS engage with sustainability-facing teaching.**

The chart below provides an overview of the most prevalent SDGs by discipline alongside examples of modules with strong SDG alignment. A more detailed breakdown of the mapping can be found on the individual discipline pages and methodology section.
