Introduction from the Registrar and Secretary
Thank you for your interest in the role of Executive Divisional Director of External Engagement and Global at the University of Exeter.
The University of Exeter has recognised the importance of DS / AI in all our subjects and has invested £25 million in 45 new staff posts in phase 1 of the ADA Programme.
This will be to provide strong underpinning of core mathematics of AI / Core Machine Learning / Computer Vision / Software Engineering, accompanied by growth in our core areas of applications expertise in AI for Healthcare / Environmental Intelligence / Data Centric Engineering.
We expect to follow phase 2 with further cross-disciplinary growth areas to drive forward data literacy of our students and to build some truly transformative research supporting our Strategy 2030 plan to support a fairer, greener, healthier future society; making use of DS and AI for the benefit of all.
The majority of the 45 posts will be within Computer Science (33), with further posts in Mathematics and Statistics (7) and Engineering (5). We expect to make around 20 appointments in this academic year with the others to follow.
