Don’t forget!

#01

Warm clothing like fleecy PJs, coats and scarves. When packing in September the cold seems a way off but remember it will start in the next few weeks.

#02

Hot water bottle. As an added source of heat a hot water bottle is great. They’re great to have in bed on a cold night or when you’re sitting working and need a bit more warmth.

#03

Board games and cards. It may not be what you’d expect, but suggesting something like a game is a great way to get to know your flatmates. I recommend cards, Uno and any board game with simple rules.

#04

Something that you can do absent-mindedly to help you relax. It can be great to have something that isn’t your phone. For some people it’s a book but I always brought my 3DS to play Nintendogs – it’s easy, takes time, helped me settle in and reminded me a little of being back at home.

#05

Your laptop and your charger – you will definitely need these for coursework and you do not want to be in a position without them. If there’s an issue with either of these get it fixed before coming to uni.

Remember that lots of things can be bought when you arrive!

That’s why this list is so short, there’s no need to worry too much about bringing everything with you.

Bedding, kitchen equipment, clothes toiletries and food can all be bought when you arrive if required.
